Our Pickering client, a Furniture repair company is looking for a skilled Upholsterer to join their growing team!

Responsibilities:

• Fit and secure material on frames using hand and power tools, glue, cement and/or staples
• Measure, cut and sew, and upholster furniture in shop
• Use hand and power tools to cut and assemble furniture pieces
• Assemble and install padding and furniture pieces
• Fabricate, repair, and restore furniture
• Frame and structure work of furniture
• Examine furniture, frames, upholstery, springs, and webbing to locate defects
• Remove coverings, webbing, padding, and/or defective springs from work pieces
• Inspect and ensure quality of workmanship meets company standards
• Lift furniture for pick-up, delivery, and drop-off to customer homes
• Deliver furniture to customer homes across GTA
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of years experience as an Upholsterer
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Knowledge of fabric estimating and measuring
• Pattern, sample, and prototype making
• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
• Great customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Lift up to 50lbs
• Physically fit, comfortable bending, twisting and able to lift and stand for long periods
• Clear criminal background check required
• Safety boots required

Bonus Qualifications:

• Woodworking experience (asset)
• Experience in a wood manufacturing environment (asset)
• Self-motivated and shows initiative

Compensation and Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 10am – 6pm
• Pay Rate: $30 per hour
