Rang Healthcare is seeking a travel Medical Technologist for a travel job in Cortez, Colorado.

This position will primarily cover Microbiology, so please list experience as Microbiology as well as generalist.

Licensure: MLT/MLS/MT thru ASCP or AMT

 

5. ROLE ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

Regulatory/Educational Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology.
  • 1-3 years Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist experience preferred.
  • National certification ASCP or AMT or eligible.
  • Current certification in BLS CPR.

Supervisor Responsibilities

  • N/A

Language Skills

  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Additional languages preferred.

·       Excellent customer service skills.

Skills

  • Basic computer knowledge.

·       Strong communication skills.

Work Environment

·       The job requires potential exposure to infectious waste and an assortment of chemicals and pharmaceuticals as well as foul odors.

·       The noise level is moderate to occasionally loud, occasional interactions with belligerent and/or aggressive patients and significant others are possible.

  • Exposure to environmental factors including heat, cold, precipitation such as snow and rain, and wind is possible.

Physical Demands

o   Physical Demands ( STRENGTH – MEDIUM ): Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

o   Physical Demands ( MOVEMENT ): This position will require the full range of movements, and repetition of motion, to include kneeling, crouching, reaching and feeling.

o   Physical Demands ( AUDITORY ): TALKING - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Talking is important for those activities in which workers must impart oral information to clients or to the public, and in those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. HEARING - perceiving the nature of sounds. Used for those activities which require ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sounds.

o   Physical Demands ( VISION ):  ACCOMMODATION - Adjustment of lens of eye to bring an object into sharp focus. Use this factor when requiring near point work at varying distances. COLOR VISION - Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
