Job Description

LAZ Parking is seeking an experienced and proactive Shuttle Operations Manager
to oversee the daily management of a large shuttle fleet. This role is responsible for the operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and personnel oversight of our shuttle services. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a thorough understanding of DOT regulations and a commitment to safety, service, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the shuttle fleet to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable service.
  • Ensure full compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations, including driver logs, HOS (Hours of Service), vehicle inspections, and safety protocols.
  • Supervise, schedule, and evaluate shuttle drivers; lead hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training programs.
  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules; coordinate repairs to reduce downtime and maximize fleet performance.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and refresher trainings to reinforce compliance and best practices.
  • Lead internal audits and prepare for external inspections or DOT audits.
  • Maintain accurate records of fleet assets, driver qualifications, accident reports, drug/alcohol testing, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time performance, vehicle availability, customer satisfaction, and cost per mile.
  • Manage the department’s budget, including labor, fuel, maintenance, and vendor expenses.
  • Collaborate with other departments—parking, customer service, security, etc.—to ensure smooth shuttle operations during peak times, events, or emergencies.
  • Develop, implement, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for shuttle operations.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents; implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Oversee the use of GPS tracking, dispatch software, and routing technology to improve operational efficiency.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints or escalations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Analyze route and schedule performance; recommend improvements based on data and service demand.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory agencies and external service providers.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in transportation, fleet, or shuttle operations management.
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations and driver compliance standards.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
  • Experience in budget development and cost control.
  • Proficiency in fleet management systems, GPS software, and Microsoft Office.
  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred or willingness to obtain.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high-volume environments such as airports, universities, or corporate campuses.
  • Familiarity with union environments and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Background in emergency response planning or incident management.
