Position: Journeyman Technical Writer (Job ID: 3666) Location: San Antonio-Lackland Airforce Base, TX Remote Status: On-Site Job Id: 3666 # of Openings: 1 Journeyman Technical Writer This position is contingent upon contract funding Purpose: Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Journeyman Technical Writer whowill provide essential technical writing support for operations out of JBSA Lackland AFB in Texas. Job Description: Provides day-to-day support in documenting / writing technical materials, equipment manuals, appendices, operating manuals and internal network layouts. Provides support and assistance with a variety of day-to-day tasks to support the IT team and staff with documentation. Writes documentation for internal teams such as developers and programmers Prepares instruction manuals. Creates product manuals with screenshots and tutorials Have technical accuracy in writing user documentation Creates software documentation after a thorough collaboration with subject matter experts and technical staff Converts complex documentation to easy language for multiple audiences Communicates complex ideas in a concise manner Disseminate technical information in easy-to-understand language for a non-technical audience Qualifications Must have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in technical writing Must be able understand and explain complex technical concepts Must have strong research and analytical skills Must have excellent technical writing skills Must have excellent verbal communication skills Must have good working knowledge of MS Office or Google Docs Must have the availability to undertake multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines Desired Requirements: Adobe Acrobat Platform fluency is preferred Proficiency in all Microsoft platforms is preferred. Security Requirements: Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Travel Requirements: Occasional travel- less than 10% If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
