Japanese Bilingual Freight Forwarding Clerk
Location: White Plains, NY
Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM with a one-hour lunch break.
(A flexible end time of 5:00 PM or 5:30 PM with a 30- to 60-minute lunch can be discussed.)
Summary:
A well-established freight forwarding company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Japanese Bilingual Freight Forwarding Clerk to join their team in White Plains, NY. This is a crucial role responsible for managing the end-to-end process of import and export shipments. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills and a desire to build a long-term career in logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate all aspects of ocean and air freight import/export shipments, including transportation and customs clearance arrangements.
• Manage warehouse operations by issuing instructions for incoming and outgoing inventory to partnered warehouses.
• Act as a liaison between the company and external partners, including shipping lines, trucking companies, and warehouse vendors.
• Prepare and create quotes for customers.
• Handle administrative tasks, including billing and month-end closing, with occasional overtime required to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
• Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English is required.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a logistics or freight forwarding operations role is strongly preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients and partners.
• Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player with a long-term commitment to the company.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. (This position does not offer visa sponsorships)
