Job Description

Vaco has partnered with a professional services firm in Scottsdale that is searching for an Interim CFO to lead their financial operations and provide strategic financial guidance. The Interim CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial functions of the organization. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in GAAP accounting, strategic financial planning, and M&A support. The ideal candidate will be a CPA (highly preferred) with a proven track record of aligning financial operations with business strategy and driving performance through data-driven insights.

Target Start Date: ASAP
Location: Scottsdale, AZ (onsite)
Project Length: 3-6 months+

Requirements for the position include:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA license highly desired
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience
• Consulting and/or professional services industry experience required
• Private-equity experience highly desired
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Demonstrated ability to connect financial performance with strategic business objectives
• Experience designing and implementing scenario planning and financial modeling
• Proven success in M&A support, including financial due diligence and integration
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
• Able to work fully onsite in Scottsdale

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
