Job Description

We are seeking an experienced independent consultant to design and deliver professional development trainings for education professionals in Los Angeles County. This role requires expertise in at least two of the following areas—with a strong preference for all three:

  • Cognitive Coaching Strategies
  • Writing and Speaking Skills Enhancement
  • Social-Emotional Leadership Development

Training Format:

The writing workshop is expected to be a 1-day session, social-emotional leadership training will span multiple days (approximately 4), and cognitive coaching may extend into a multi-year series as part of a long-term engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design original instructor-led training (ILT) programs for adult learners
  • Facilitate engaging, in-person sessions in Los Angeles (must be local)
  • Develop curriculum with clear objectives and outcome measurement strategies
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and report on impact
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and adjust content as needed

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience designing and facilitating ILT programs for adult learners
  • Expertise in at least two of the listed content areas
  • Based in the Los Angeles area; must be available for onsite facilitation
  • Ability to work independently under a fixed-fee structure
  • Must provide own laptop and tools

Location: Virtual (Design) & Onsite (Facilitation in Los Angeles, CA – Local Candidates Only)

Start Date: Targeting September 2025

Duration: Through June 2026 (FY26)

Engagement Type: Fixed Fee

Note: This role is open to independent consultants operating under a registered business entity (e.g., LLC, S-Corp, or licensed sole proprietorship). Consultants must meet California's legal requirements for independent contractors and be able to contract and invoice under their business name. This is not a W-2 or employment-based role.
