The Harborside Inn is now hiring a room attendant for the 2025 season!
This position is located on Martha's Vineyard. Shared dormitory-style housing is available.
This position is anticipated to work the night shift (finishing around 9pm).
Located on the harbor in the heart of Edgartown, the Harborside Inn is Martha's Vineyard's premier waterfront resort. With 90 guest rooms and luxury hotel amenities, it is the perfect place to vacation in the heart of Edgartown with all the galleries, dining, shops, and nightlife the town has to offer.

All positions, including seasonal roles, remain employment-at-will. Preference may be given to those available full season. However, those unable to work a full season are not necessarily automatically disqualified. Start and end dates may be flexible.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Housekeeping team plays a key role in our mission to deliver world-class service and products and a memorable vacation experience to everyone who passes through our doors. They ensure every single guest and owner has an enjoyable experience at the Inn. This includes making our guests feel welcome, cleaning guest rooms, replacing amenities and stocking supplies, self-inspecting one's own work, and assisting with common areas and laundry as needed. The position involves:
Operationally Related:
- Cleaning assigned rooms within the minutes-per-room expectations.
- Reporting maintenance related concerns and needs to the Housekeeping Manager/Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Properly maintaining housekeeping equipment.
- Replacing and restocking room amenities, items, literature, and any other items that management wants in guest/owner units that have been used or are in need of replacement.
- Replacing cleaning supplies and unloading/loading housekeeping carts with supplies.
- Self-inspecting own performance and making corrections as needed.
- May perform regularly deep cleaning of all areas of property as needed.
- Assisting in other areas of housekeeping and within other departments as needed.
Guest Service Related:
- Initiating conversations with guests and owners and making them feel welcome.
- Learning about the area to be able to make recommendations to guests.
- Resolving guest concerns.
- Working well with others to best serve guests.
- Taking initiative in finding tasks to work on during slower times and seeking ways to enhance the guest and owner experience.
It Also Involves:
- Arriving to work as scheduled and following the property's attendance guidelines.
- Attending meetings and training as requested.
- Practicing all safety guidelines of the organization and reporting safety concerns to management.
- Adhering to organizational guidelines/policies/expectations as well as federal, state, and local laws, including the property's confidentiality expectations.
Qualifications: All of our team members are passionate about guest service and helping others. They initiate conversations, anticipate the needs of others, and interact with others in a courteous and efficient manner. They love being a team player and are detail-oriented as well as flexible/adaptable. They are able to work a flexible work week including nights, weekends, and holidays. They understand maintaining confidentiality is important. This position primarily involves working indoors but could be outdoors at times. Previous cleaning experience is helpful but not required. Position involves lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling 20 to 50 pounds.
