Job Description

Fire Life Safety Inspector Technician

Location: Phoenix, AZ

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing fire protection organization as they launch and scale a brand-new Phoenix branch . This role is ideal for a highly independent, proactive Fire Life Safety professional who thrives with autonomy, takes ownership of their work, and enjoys building long-term client relationships.

This position is heavily inspection-focused , with the majority of work centered on sprinkler systems and backflow prevention . You will manage your own client portfolio, become a trusted face to customers, and play a key role in establishing the company’s presence in the Phoenix market.

Role Focus (Very Important)

  • Primarily inspection-based role
  • Heavily sprinkler-focused

  • Work independently with a set schedule and take ownership of daily execution
  • Adhere to all OSHA and safety standards at all times
  • Support branch growth by delivering consistent, high-quality service

  • Is comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
  • Has an entrepreneurial mindset and takes pride in ownership
  • Is used to being resourceful and solving problems in the field
  • Enjoys building trusted relationships with repeat customers
  • Thrives in a fast-growing, new-branch environment

Required Qualifications

  • Strong sprinkler system inspection experience (Wet, Dry, Deluge, Pre-Action, Fire Pumps)
  • Backflow certification REQUIRED — or must be willing and able to obtain immediately
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes, including NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20, and 25
  • Experience inspecting backflow prevention devices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and technical documentation
  • Proficient with inspection tools and test equipment
  • Physically capable of lifting 50–70 lbs and working at heights up to 40 feet
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • NICET certifications or other fire-related certifications
  • Fire Extinguisher License (State of AZ)
  • Experience with pipe installation and sprinkler system components

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Brand-new branch with significant growth opportunity
  • High level of autonomy and trust
  • Manage your own client base and build lasting customer relationships
  • Customers know and trust their technicians by name
  • Opportunity to grow with the branch and take on expanded responsibility
  • Supportive leadership with long-term career paths

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay
  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company contribution
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Company vehicle and gas card
  • iPad and modern tools provided
