E-Sports Coach

Job Posting

Summary: Hemlock Public School District is launching a brand new, state of the art E-Sports Program with onsite facilities. The E-Sports coach will be responsible for developing a successful program. The coach will supervise and instruct the E-Sports Team as well as maintain a regular practice schedule and provide leadership for participating students. The E-Sports team is expected to perform at a competitive level.

Required Qualifications:

  • Successful leadership or coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
  • Alternate qualifications may be considered.
  • Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.

Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Post-Secondary degree in a relevant field.
  • Background that includes experience in competitive video gaming.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of best practices in coaching.
  • Experience working as part of a collaborative team.

A successful candidate will be able to:

  • Relate to and instruct student athletes in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
  • Develop and use strategies to improve individual and team play.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with administration and staff.
  • Ability to recruit and retain students in the program.
  • Continuously ensure personal behavior and program reputation are in alignment with Hemlock Public School District values and brand.
  • Possess strong organizational, motivational, discipline and fundamental teaching skills.
  • Work with other coaches by supporting and encouraging students to participate in other sports.
  • Able to communicate with players, parents, and other coaches.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.
  • Pursue scholarship opportunities within the esports business world.

Salary: $1,750 Per Season
