Job Description

Hello, EPIC Analyst / Specialist Dallas, TX (Onsite). Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced EPIC Analyst / Specialist to join our IT team. This individual will play a crucial role in the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of our Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The EPIC Analyst will work closely with clinical, operational, and technical teams to ensure the Epic system effectively meets the needs of our healthcare providers and patients, enhances clinical workflows, and maintains data integrity and security in compliance with healthcare regulations. Key Responsibilities • System Configuration & Build: o Participate in the design, build, configuration, and testing of Epic applications (e.g., EpicCare Ambulatory, Inpatient, Willow, Radiant, OpTime, etc.) to support clinical and business workflows. o Translate complex clinical/business requirements into technical specifications and Epic system configurations. o Perform system analysis to identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and process improvements within Epic. • Support & Troubleshooting: o Provide expert-level support for Epic users, troubleshooting issues, and resolving complex problems efficiently. o Act as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for help desk tickets related to Epic applications. o Work with end-users and Epic technical support to ensure timely resolution of system issues. • Testing & Quality Assurance: o Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for new Epic features, upgrades, and patches. o Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with clinical and operational stakeholders. o Document test results and work with build teams to resolve defects. • Documentation & Training: o Create and maintain detailed system documentation, including build specifications, workflows, and user guides. o Assist in the development and delivery of training materials and sessions for end-users on Epic functionalities and best practices. o Provide go-live support and ongoing education to ensure user proficiency. • Collaboration & Communication: o Collaborate effectively with project managers, other Epic analysts, application teams, technical infrastructure teams, and clinical/operational stakeholders. o Participate in project meetings, providing technical insights and updates on Epic-related tasks. o Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences. • Maintenance & Compliance: o Stay current with Epic updates, new modules, and industry best practices. o Ensure all Epic configurations and processes comply with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH), organizational policies, and Epic's foundational best practices. o Assist with data extracts and reporting from Epic as needed. Qualifications • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Nursing, or a related clinical or technical field. • Experience: o Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as an Epic Analyst or similar role. o Demonstrated experience in Epic system build, configuration, testing, and support. o Prior experience in a healthcare environment is required. • Epic Certifications (Required): o Current Epic certification(s) in at least one relevant application (e.g., EpicCare Ambulatory, Inpatient, Willow, Radiant, OpTime, Bridges, Cogito, Healthy Planet). Multiple certifications are a strong plus. o Must maintain Epic certification(s) as required by Epic Systems. • Technical Skills: o Strong understanding of clinical or business workflows relevant to the Epic application(s) supported. o Familiarity with healthcare IT standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and interoperability concepts. o Basic understanding of database concepts (SQL) and reporting tools is a plus. o Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
