Editor/Photographer, Sport Location: Los Angeles, Chicago (Hybrid) Type: Full-time/permanent Who You Are: As a talented editor and aspiring sports photographer, you’ll play a vital role in editing and capturing both stills and video content that fulfills the needs of our organization. While your primary focus will be on editing, this role offers the opportunity to develop your photography skills, working with the best sports photographers covering everything from domestic sporting events to globally significant spectacles like the FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games. Working with our award-winning team, you’ll be part of our editorial and commercial sports coverage on a global scale. A good knowledge and passion for domestic and international sports, coupled with technical proficiency in digital photography, photo editing, metadata management, and troubleshooting across PC and Mac platforms, will be essential for success. Your Next Challenge: This full-time position combines sport editing with event photography, designed to support the progression of the successful candidate towards a full-time photography role. As an editor, you’ll work closely with our sports editing team to deliver high-quality results for live events and client projects. This role balances remote work with in-office and on-site opportunities, allowing you to gain hands-on experience, from editing the work of our globally distributed team and building towards photographing events alongside our leading content creators. The fast-paced, deadline-driven environment requires a focus on editorial quality while meeting client needs. Edit editorial and commercial content remotely, in-office, and on-site at sporting events. Prepare content for global distribution with skills in photo editing software, metadata application, and FTP management. Ensure timely uploads of images to multiple platforms, including websites and client destinations. Collaborate with the Managing Editor during group edits, ensuring cohesive teamwork and meeting deadlines. Collaborate with onsite teams (editors, photographers, freelancers), ensuring that workflows align with the event scale and tight deadlines. Cultivate a collaborative environment that encourages respect, open communication, and a positive culture where every team member feels valued and supported. Develop photographic techniques and proficiency to enable to create content for the needs of our clients and customers. Proactively collaborate with senior photographers to improve your abilities behind the lens. Cultivate partnerships with industry organizations and athletes. Foster collaborative relationships internally and externally. Technical proficiency in camera setup, remote operation, FTP transmission, and networking. Work towards capturing industry-leading content in both stills and video across various contexts, including sports events, action shots, features, and studio/portraiture work. Availability to cover events at a moment's notice. Flexibility to work internationally and domestically for extended periods. As an essential part of our editorial sports team, you’ll take on a wide range of responsibilities as dynamic as the sports world itself. Through editing and capturing key moments from major sporting events, you’ll help produce content with global resonance. Working alongside our top editors and photographers, you’ll benefit from mentorship and guidance that will help you develop and refine your skills. What You’ll Need: Strong editorial skills, with a command of JPEG & RAW workflows, photo editing, and metadata management. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused mentality. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to meet tight deadlines. Proven time-management skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
