Overview:

Agensys Corporation is seeking Claims Reviewers to support the FEMA Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire Claims Office. This critical mission supports individuals and entities affected by the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fires through the review, processing, and recommendation of compensatory claims. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with federal regulations, and a claimant-centric approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process submitted claims and documentation in accordance with the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire Assistance Act and FEMA policy.
  • Assess losses for compensability, accuracy, and completeness; identify when site inspections or SME reports are necessary.
  • Assist claimants and/or their representatives with compiling required supporting documentation.
  • Develop Proofs of Loss (PoLs) using standardized rate calculators and valuation methodologies.
  • Identify and mitigate duplication of benefits from other federal or insurance programs.
  • Recommend compensation amounts and submit detailed reports to Authorizing Officials.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control, Appeals, SME teams, and other stakeholders to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and claimant support throughout the review process.
  • Adhere to established timelines—submit claims to QC within 25 calendar days of PoL receipt and respond to rework within 1 business day.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Experience (depending on level) in claims or case processing roles with strong customer service and document review responsibilities.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to interpret federal policies, regulations (especially 44 CFR Part 296), and claims guidance.
  • Proficiency in evaluating disaster-related damages and calculating compensation amounts.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Experience with claims management software, databases, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive claimant data and maintain confidentiality.

Backgrounds:

  • Experience with FEMA claims programs (e.g., IA, PA).
  • Previous support on disaster recovery contracts.
  • Familiarity with Xactimate, GIS tools, or similar software.

Travel Requirement:

  • Must be able to travel to claimant locations in designated New Mexico counties if requested.
