Recruiting Director of Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer

Greater Binghamton Health Center (GBHC), a Joint Commission accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility is recruiting a Director Nursing 3 (Psychiatric) to serve as the Chief Nursing Officer and is a member of GBHC’s executive management team.

Duties

As the Chief Nursing Officer, you will oversee and manage GBHC’s nursing department including nursing and direct care services provided to individuals with mental illness in inpatient, outpatient, residential and community setting including:

  • Implementing nursing policies, procedures, programs, goals, and objectives
  • Overseeing recruitment, training, and continuing education for nursing and direct care staff
  • Monitoring staffing, assignments, and scheduling to ensure quality care
  • Ensuring nursing operations are in compliance with laws, regulations, and standards of care
  • Preparing for regulatory visits and surveys

GBHC, located in Binghamton, New York, is a community-based mental health facility providing inpatient and outpatient services to adults and children and youth who live in Upstate New York’s Southern Tier region.

GBHC delivers comprehensive, integrated services to hospitalized individuals on four (4) distinct adult units and one (1) unit for children and youth. GBHC’s outpatient services include Transitional Living Residences, Family Care Program with certified homes in the community, clinic services, Mobile Integration Team (MIT), Adolescent Crisis Residence, Adolescent Day Treatment, and OnTrack NY program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • NYS license and current registration as a registered professional nurse; and
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing; and
  • Three (3) years of post-licensure clinical and administrative nursing experience. Two (2) years of this experience must have been in a nursing management position with overall responsibility for the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing programs and services in a mental health, developmental disabilities, addictions, or long-term care setting or psychiatric program in a health care setting.

Substitution: Master’s in nursing can substitute for one (1) year of non-managerial post-licensure clinical nursing experience.

If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
