Job Description

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Chief Engineer. The Chief Engineer is responsible for the management, supervision, and professional development of all building engineering personnel.

Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

  1. Daily Checks with Building Engineers and Technicians
  2. Weekly Reports
  3. Time Sheet Review
  4. Time Exception Review
  5. Overtime Management
  6. Screen, hire, supervise, and coordinate training activities for engineering staff.
  7. Provide technical support, job delegation, and project management to the engineering team.
  8. Assist with reducing operating expenses while maintaining and enhancing the quality of the services provided.
  9. Assist in generating and executing budgets.
  10. Assist with generating scope for RFA/RFP.
  11. Assist in project management.
  12. Outline a seamless customer impact.
  13. Ensure safety guidelines are followed.
  14. Provide on-time updates to the Client.
  15. Assist with construction projects.
  16. Review construction drawings to ensure standards are followed.
  17. Collaborate with GCs on impacts to existing customers, FLS impairments, warranty work, etc.
  18. Oversee commissioning of new equipment.
  19. Vendor contract review and management.
  20. Monitor and control energy efficiency.
  21. Assist with generating SOPs.
  22. Ensure OSHA compliance.
  23. Ensure team development goals are outlined and met.
  24. Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Required Experience & Skills:

  1. The Chief Engineer shall possess at least five years (within the past seven years) experience in the management and supervision of building mechanical operations and maintenance for high-rise buildings.
  2. They shall also be required to have an Arizona Refrigeration and/or Air Conditioning Operators License and a Universal Refrigerant Certification.
