Job Description
The Project Specialist works with the Transition Leads and the department lead along with other transition points of contact, owners, and operators to assist in the Project management of the Transition Projects, with tools and resources used to track the status of the transition in a timely manner. The Project Specialist will work collaboratively with functional business areas to achieve agreed project objectives, milestones and deliverables and ensure alignment with strategic goals set by the department lead. This position is responsible to make independent decisions with regards to follow-up with transition points of contacts on status. This role will also establish how best to effectively communicate to their respective groups. In this role you will assist in maintaining the efficiency of the project management process, planning, scheduling, budget tracking, and risk assessments for projects related to process improvement, business optimization, and process automation.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelors Degree or 2+ years of experience in basic project management
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint).
- Ability to show good judgement, take initiative, and make decisions to accomplish job duties
- Strong communication, presentation, and organization skills, both verbal and written with all levels ranging from staff to senior executives, as well as strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities including multiple projects, demands, and re-prioritize as Relationship building and consulting skills
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Demonstrates ability to pick up on all technical tools and resources used within the department.
- Responsible for day-to-day management and execution of multiple, large or extra-large projects and/or programs through the project lifecycle.
- Understand business needs and help drive key Transition initiatives.
- Support projects, cross-functional team responsibilities, and related operational tasks
- Drive for continuous improvement of Management change/ new management contracts and disposition of ownership processes
- Fosters a positive brand perception through influence and open communication with owners and management companies driving owner and guest satisfaction.
- Must have good verbal / written communication skills and customer service mindset and be able to step into the Project leads calls and run point.
- Coordinates with internal and external customers to complete project within timelines
- Communicate clear and concise information requests with transition support departments and ownership and Management groups.
- Track completion of TCC checklists and all pending items for all projects
- Maintain MPL status effectively for Operations and Dropbox management for Transition Leads.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word / Excel / PDF/PowerPoint with ability to create new workbooks & Documents and work within existing documents.
- Must be able to adapt to changing project requirements and schedule
- Coordinating logistics for larger package deals and acquisitions
