The Opportunity

Lesley University’s Department of Natural Sciences and Math is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach: CMATH 1522 Introduction to Statistics, Fully in-person, on-campus, Spring Semester 2026, Mondays/Wednesdays 12:55pm-2:10pm

Course Description:

This course provides a general introduction to the fundamental concepts of probability and descriptive statistics. Students will learn methods for data collection, calculation, display, and analysis. The course emphasizes the advantages and limitations of statistical methods in investigating contemporary issues across science, health, education, management, and the social sciences. A research project involving descriptive statistics is required.

Qualities and Capabilities

A successful candidate will have:

  • Master's degree in Mathematics or a combined degree in Teaching and Mathematics

  • Experience teaching statistics at the undergraduate level

  • Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
